Misc: Burning Clown

After a brief discussion it was decided, the clown wasn’t going home…….

Although I don’t get a chance to engage too often I do enjoy the horror photography genre and follow a few horror photographers on G+. This weekend an opportunity presented itself and I was glad I had my camera.

Setup

roadside memorial

A quick shot of the camera/interview folks setting up for Thursday’s shoot.

The final shot of the memorial that gets added to the set will probably be black and white however the clouds, colours, textures, and general feeling of the site the afternoon we were there made tone mapping my choice for this image.

HDR: Impact

impact

My travels last week-end took me through Eganville (ON) where I found their first annual community demolition derby.

The venue did not allow for decent wider angle shots so I used the 55-250mm telephoto to try and capture the moment of impact.

Nature: Dragonfly

Spent the afternoon at Petrie Island with Heather and we found this dragonfly hanging out on a stick – fortunately s/he (how does one know anyway?) was willing to stay still for a quick shot. Someday I may be lucky enough to find a macro lens that I can afford because this was was sort of fun:-)
