Black & White: Winter Comes

I looked out my window yesterday afternoon to find the first real snow of the winter falling, and could not help but think…… ice fishing!!

The ground is, I think, frozen enough for this to stick so it’s probably time to put some fuel stabilizer in the bike (I don’t see any more rides in my future this year), give the x-country skis a once over to make sure they’re going to make it through another season, and repack the tackle box with gear more appropriate to fishing through a hole in the ice than from along the shore.

….. each of our seasons has it’s special offerings.

It may also be time to invest in some replacement rechargeable batteries for my pocket camera. The current set of six is about a year and a half old and not holding a charge anywhere near as long as they used to – and when your outside fishing or skiing in -15º or so for a few hours even new batteries don’t have the greatest of longevity.
