Nature: Wounded Dragonfly

wounded dragonfly

Friday afternoon found me 100 miles west of my apartment and sitting in a friends flower garden photograhing insects; a little over 3 hours of trying to sneak up on one or another winged six legged critter, achieve focus, and click the shutter button before it fltted off to another flower or, as happened all to often, saw me, got nervous, and just plain buggered off.

I didn’t notice this guy (gal?) was missing a fairly substantial chunk of its wing until the image was processed – from the way it was flying around it didn’t seem to be affected overly much.
